Emotional Changes

  • Of course emotional experiences vary between individuals likely even more significantly than physical ones.

  • Arguably the most commonly reported effect is that of feeling all emotions— whether positive, negative or otherwise— more intensely.

  • Often people find that they are able to cry more easily, or that they are crying more at things they would not have before.

    • Often a period of more frequent and random bouts of crying arises and then   calms down after being on E for a little while, but this is not something everyone will experience.

  • Some people may find HRT has some negative effects on their mental health, especially as they adjust to its effects (particularly the emotional effects)

    • While negative mental health impacted by dysphoria is going to be aided by the effects of HRT, some mental health conditions may be exacerbated due to the increased sensitivity and feeling a greater intensity and/or availability of emotions and their effects, such as crying, etc.

Will emotional changes revert if I stop taking E?

It is most likely that your emotional experience will revert to something more like what it was before taking E. However, it is aelso possible that the way you experienced emotions on E will stay with you to a degree, having experienced something different and adapting the way you think to that.
